NZTech, what are you using as the means of transferring music to the device? drag and drop or PC Studio?
I'm finding PC Studio very annoying as the set-up is extremely crappy, got any recommendations?

I have the latest Italian firmware (has the sound fix), it has rolled out to many other areas by now too so you may be able to upgrade to it by just connecting to the software updater in PC Suite (if not you'll have to go through flashing it to an older Italian one first with the flashing tool).

Instructions and files for everything I'm talking about there can be found at samsungi8910omnia.com forums (great site for owners of this phone). New firmware is due 21st August (22nd here), so I'd hold out for that one. It'll come in the Italian flavour first, so perhaps get yourself onto the current firmware before then.

I've gots loads of 3rd party apps, the forum I mentioned will give you a good headsup as to whats out there.

Are any of you who have the Omina from Dunedin? I'm tempted to go via a parallel dealer, just need that final push and would love to see one 'live' :-)

Sorry, missed your post Spidey.

I just drag n drop, my collection is impeccably tagged with mp3tag, so there are no problems with album art or anything when done that way.

Just quick info to hand: there is a new hardware available from samsungi8910omnia forums. Apparently fixes the browser stop bug, must implement some change in java heap as early reports say that Opera is working great with that firmware, better battery, slight speed enhancements, smoother HD video. Lacks the 3D task manager though, which is why I will wait for the next Italian one (should be due soon after being delayed), as this will have the task manager and presumably other changes also.

Sorry for double post, but rather momentous news - the first ever custom Symbian firmware has been produced and released for this handset via samsungi8910omnia.com...

I'm not sure what the ramifications of this are, but its pretty huge news....

Just found a shop "Esquared" is selling the 16gb for $1330 in auckland. a bit pricey but this is the only local place i have come across selling the 16gb one...

Wish they would release new FW with the fm transmitter enabled, only thing holding me back.

I want this Phone now!

Anyone here know of other prices for the 16gb?
