I have just recently aquired a clie (TJ25) and i really love this whole pda thing. It rocks my socks! Any ways, i would like to connect to the internet at home and hopefully at school. Both computers acess the internet over a network. I can find the network settings i need, but i dont know what i really do need... i have to connect via usb cable, as i have no wireless capability. I have tried to connect but to no avail. Can anyone give me a step by step on setting up internet acess to my palm enabled device? Thank very much for your help.

You can connect the Palm to the internet via USB if using a third party program. Try Softick PPP. Give it a try.

First you have to check if you have the correct configuration to access the internet. Are you able to ping a host by IP, like 209.202.221.21? If yes, then the network access is good. If not, then it could be a firewall blocking PING or the network access not working at all.

Now try pinging www.wired.com (which is 209.202.221.21). If you can ping by IP but not by name then you have a DNS problem, and first you have to configure this.

Most certainly NIS is blocking communications, so start by testing without NIS.
