For the last couple of day, I have had difficulty trying to upgrade my Whatsapp to new 2.8.0.0 and yesterday with AirNZ mPass 2.0.0.0.

Both cases, the installation gets to 75% mark then reset and present to me "Attention required" message. However when I tried to install Viber (new to my account/device) it went through installation just fine.

Apparently this is a widespread issue:

I'm still having this issue for 2 days now and it's frustrating that I can't update any apps.

Also upgraded AirNZ mPass successfully last night with no issues - which I realise doesn't help you at all Frown

Are you using Telecom? Have you tried updating over WiFi or 3G? Have you restarted the phone?

I'm having this problem with mPass, Bing Translator and WhatsApp on my HD7 on Vodafone.  Using WiFi didn't fix the problem.

Not out of space;
Tried both on Cellular and Wifi;
With Vodafone;
Only happened on apps that I have already owned (or registered to my account);
Restarted numerous times;

FTA: "We know what?s causing the issue and are already planning to roll out a fix. Until that?s finished, we?re going to temporarily stop publishing new apps in Marketplace."

This means you won't get new apps until an update is installed - and we all know how fast updates roll out in Windows Phone world.

Fail.

HAHAHAHA that's epic!  Surely they're not talking about a phone update!?

As this is tied to the App Hub/Developer Center updates I'm hoping they are referring to a server-side fix.

If it's happening on some old devices with old certs, it may need updating those - and then we'll see how they manage to release updates to everyone without OEM and operator stepping in and crashing the party.

They've done it before when some rogue certificates were issued, but it wasn't an overnight fix.

Looks like this should be sorted shortly:

UPDATE (16 AUG): We fixed the digital certificate problem and last evening resumed publishing new apps and updates. It will take a day or two for the repair to fully deploy and newly-published apps to begin appearing in Marketplace again.  If you experienced errors, I want to emphasize that you don’t need to do anything to start downloading new apps or updates once the repair has finished rolling out.
