Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with internet sharing. I am sure it is most likely something I have done. When ever I try to enable internet sharing I just get a message saying there's no mobile data connection to share at the moment. Check your mobile settings and signal, and try again.

I have got the 710 over here so it's the telecom version, but I am running with a 2degrees sim at the moment, so not sure if that would be causing the problem, I am in Christchurch so pretty sure I am running off the 2degrees towers, and get internet fine.

I also got impatient while waiting for the tango update and manually flashed it, which could have installed breaky things but still got the message from Zune there was an update available a couple of weeks ago, so did that. Never tried tethering it until yesterday and just get the error when ever I try.

Just wondering if there is anyone else running the telecom 710 on 2degrees that has been able to get tethering working? If so I might try rolling back to preupdating, otherwise I guess I have a xt sim here, and the new $20 a month prepaid deal doesn't look too bad :)

Thanks, Danny.

i have a lumia 800 with 2degrees and it runs fine.

i suspect that if you're using a telecom version of the 710 then you may not be getting 3G data speeds and as a result internet sharing is probably never going to be optimal as the frequencies its supports are wrong

Try downloading and running the Network Setup application from the Marketplace, it iswithin the Nokia Collection. It will be version 2.6.

Thanks regs. Yeah I checked the supported frequencies on the phone and the frequencies 2degrees operates on before getting the phone and they were sweet. Haha not so much with the Vodafone ones... Whoops. But yeah I am feeling that may be the case.

And BrentR it seems version 1.5 is the latest version available so might have to just roll my phone back and try just upgrading with Zune. Pretty sure all my messages and photos get synced to my computer anyway so shouldnt be too much work. Thanks :).

A XT 710 running on Vodafone or 2degrees will deliver a sub optimal experience becuase it doesn't support 900MHz 3G. You'll be stuck with GPRS everywhere outside the 2100MHz 3G coverage areas.

Ahh right I just assumed since 2degrees only have the 2100MHz listed for their wcdma that all their 3g coverage map was the 2100mhz stuff.

Haha I knew buying a telecom phone would be a bad idea at the time but it came with a free sim card so no huge loss :)

Thanks for all your help.
