My 6600 doesnt give me the contact name of the person sending me a msg, even though they are in my phonebook on the phone.

All i get is the phone number of the person sending the msg.

can anybody tell me why its doin this and how to fix it?

sounds like a software bug, and what memory in use are you use BOTH or SIM or PHONE MEMORY

Also, as an experiment, are you storing numbers in the +(country)(area)(number) format?

tried using the +country area format, that ddnt work. at the moment, i am using the phone memory to store contacts, but i did have them all stored to both. thyat didnt work either

Any other thoughts????

Just to confirm, the area code is without the 0 (zero). You'll should have numbers like +64 21 XYZ WYZ or +64 4 462 WXYZ.

software bug most likely, how old is your SIM, give me the first 4 digits after 6401

Hey guys,

Nah its not a bug ... more the fact you will have doubled up contacts in your address book

IE two contacts with the same number

just go into outlook, edit out the mobile numbers and re snyc with the phone .. or just manually edit them in your 6600

I thought I was going mental too until I click :)
