Does it really compresses data and thus saves on bandwidth?

Edit - IE in WP8 will also compress data and have data usage feature built into the OS. Good job Nokia. Looks like they are porting some of these features themselves for their WP7.5 customers.

It's a browser replacement, so I guess it goes through Nokia servers for compression, the same as Opera Mini does.

Accesing testip.geekzone.co.nz and it shows my IP address as 64.27.165.35 (USA) instead of my TelstraClear address.

Agent includes "Gecko/20100401 S40OviBrowser/1.8.0.50.5"

Loaded Geekzone a couple of times and it says "74% LESS data used".

Now if it worked as Onavo on iPhone and actually used as a proxy for the whole networking instead of just a browser...

I loaded geekzone and it said 93% less data used, I like the feature functionality of the app itself. Good job Nokia.

Opera Mobile as well.  I have "Turbo" (as it's called in Opera) enabled for Mobile broadband connections but disabled for WiFi.

It works very well but there is one or two sites that don't work well with Turbo and require it to to turned off in order for them to display properly.  I cannot remember which ones they are right at the moment, I wonder if Nokia Xpress has the same issues.

There's an update for this app available in Marketplace today...

I use it now and then. I've noticed a couple of mobile pages won't work, and very few have rendering problems. I like the font used by default and it would be handy if it kept session between launches.
