Noel Leeming are currently selling the Lumia 800 (XT version) for a good price.  Are these models quad-band like the XT 710 and therefore usable on Vodafone too?

No they're not!

XT and VFNZ variants are both tri band with XT having 850 3G and VFNZ 900 3G on the lower bands. Both have 2100 3G

What? The Lumia 800 is tri-band? I thought it was quad-band and the N9 was the penta-band one...

Nokia Lumia 710 is also a Tri-band phone. It is actually Lumia 610 which is quad-band. Cheers. VodaFone Lumia 800 is still available at a discounted price, if someone is interested:

I got my SIM swapped to a Micro-SIM today and the phone works beautifully on Vodafone now.

It probably runs fine wherever Vodafone has 2100 MHz 3G and their 2G network. But it won't work where Vodafone has 900 MHz 3G only.
