I have tried accessing my Skydrive contents from Windows Phone 8 Office, and then Windows Phone 7.5 Office.

In both cases I get an error after five minutes:



Needeless to say both mobile data and WiFi are enabled and working just fine. Access through the Skydrive app itself works fine and fast. Is anyone else seeing problems with Windows Phone Office app?

Just spent about 10 minutes in the Office app on 7.5, browsing and using my Skydrive files. Haven't had any issues. I'm on Wifi.

Interesting. Tried with two different handsets, both WiFi and mobile data and got nowhere. Web access works fine.

I did notice speed issues downloading a 2.8MB powerpoint. It took much longer than it needed to. But apart from that it was fine. Can't speak for WP8. Maybe it's account-related, for some reason?

Just tried on my lumia 800, from the office app/skydrive I had no problems opening my files (excel and a word file).

How many files do you have on Skydrive? Mine has around 30,000 files in 2,200 folders total. The first level is only 43 folders and 11 files but the Office app seems to have problems that SkyDrive standalone doesn't...

Yes, it seems related to volume - I've put a single file in the Videos folder and it refreshes the folder just fine.

So Windows Phone Office is pretty much buggy.

Yes, the number file files certainly makes sense. I haven't got much synced to it yet, but plan to.
This would be worth reporting to the WP8 ppl.
