I have approximately 60 users who are currently using ActiveSync to connect and sync with an Exchange 2k3 mail server. I am connecting to a Wind2k3 native network. I have one user using an Audiovox xv6700 that is unable to sync and receives the 0x85010001 error. I have checked his AD profile and all seems to be correct. He and I have the same phone and I can sync without fail. I have also hard reset his phone and set it to sync with my profile successfully. He can sync successfully from his cradle. His Outlook Mobile Services are all enabled. (I have disabled then reenabled them). He is using Windows Mobile 5.0 and ActiveSync 4.2, as am I. I have 5 XV6700 phones out there and they all sync successfully except him.
My exchange 2k3 is on a clustered win2k3 servers with a win2k3 front end server.

Didn't you post this in another topic which is filed under WM Smartphone? Have you tried Google to search for the solution, as I can find a few... not that I have taken my time to read them thoroughly.

Mauricio even suggested a read at MSKB. Did you try that?

Thanks for the response. I looked at the KB that Mauricio pointed to and it was not what I needed. It was for systems without a front end exchange server. I have one. I will look at the reads you pointed me too and reply with the results.

This sounds like a Permissions issue, I suspect your intial AD hunch is correct......below is the definitive Technet guide for deploying WM devices, including infrastructure like yours.
Good luck! Keep us posted!

I am pretty sure this has to do with permissions, or authentication (as suggested in a previous thread)...

Thanks Yahdie, I have it set up accoridng to the article you posted. But, still no luck. I think that the next step will be to blow away his user account and rebuild it. Once rebuilt I will reconnect his mailbox. If that doesn't work I will blow away both his user profile and hs mailbox. If that works I will let you know.

I was able to delete and rebuild the user profile in Active Directory and he is now syncing successfully. I am not sure what the problem was but the new profile worked.

could actually be a fault in the profile to start with.

Well good to hear it's all going well now.
