I will try and be short and sweet without being dramatic. I have done my research but still having issues

have an hp rx3115 iPAQ with windows 2003 mobile second edition
my phone is a motrolla L6 with bluetooth
I have a unlimited media bundle package with cingular wireless for $20.00 a month
I want to connect to internet using my phone as modem.

I have tried what I consider every wep setting in int strings number etc
I can connect with many of the various settings but after about 120 sec I get a message that the device dissconnected me (maybe due to dissconnect timeout setting?. Not sure whats going on here.

Should I get a diffrent phone diffrent data plan? diffrent settings?

right now my settings are
dialing number: *99***1# (operator told me to use phone number with # at the end?) I have also tried *99# and wap.cingular

username: WAP@CINGULAR.COM (also tried WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM)
pass: CINGULAR1

Baud rate: I have tried all

wait for dialtone : I have checked and unchecked
domain: empty

I have tried a combanation of all the above as well
any Ideas?

~edit~  I just tried the following tutorial it didnt work either http://www.markwilson.co.uk/blog/2004/11/accessing-internet-using-vodafone-gprs.htm

Welcome to Geekzone... I think you want to access GPRS on your Pocket PC? WAP is just a protocol for a lightweight mobile Internet, so you probably need the APN configuration. You seem to have the right info there but try this:

Dialing number: *99#
username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Init string: Z;+CGDCONT=1,,"WAP.CINGULAR"

The "Z;" instructs the phone to reset the modem, and the +CGDCONT tells what APN to use.

Edit: fixed init string.

Interesting, I've used Cingular/AT&T while in Las Vegas for the CES earlier this year, and those were the settings I had to use... You might have to check your account, or test with another phone?

Correct, domain is empty, and no need to wait for dialtone (this is not a circuit switched dial up connection).

Anyone you know with a phone you can pop your SIM card in ot test?

Ooops, sorry. I've noticed a typo on this Init String. Could you please try the correct one (without quotes around 1):

Init string: Z;+CGDCONT=1,,"WAP.CINGULAR"

I dont notice a diffrence in the two strings?  I am suppose to put these in the extra dial-string box right?  how about using terminal before and after etc?

now when I use string it just says connecting  and opens a post dial terminal that has a blinking cursor.  its stays like this for a long time

also what is apn and where does it go (what box :p)

ok so I got it working.. my settings are as follows

i have media package at $20 a month for unlimited internet.

for some reason after a few minutes my phone discconnects.. is this because internet is in active?  is there a way to set internet to always be on?

phone number: *99***1#
User: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
pass: CINGULAR1

Extra dial-string modem command: +CGDCONT=1,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR"
