A family member has the Nokia 710. She complained today that after the update she received during the week that the battery now barely lasts one day.

Has anyone got any hints as to where to start to fix this issue?

Thanks

All background tasks off? Brightness set to low & auto set to off. Battery saver set to off. Data connection set to off. Wifi & Bluetooth both off when not needed. Lock & Wallpaper set to 30secs. Dirt cheap batteries(x3) inc charger off Ebay. (Battery sits in charger, so 710 NOT required). Warning though re spare batteries - take better care when swapping into & out of phone than I did to ensure best tight attachment of backcover to body proper.
Good luck!

Original battery with original charger.  I've suggested the other options you mention. I'm doing this by remote control so cannot be absolutely sure all options have been correct actioned.

The problem happened after an update so something happened there.

check the live tiles on the start screen, one of them might be killing it.. perhaps remove a few and add back one at a time.
