Hi,

I searched this forum for info on these PDAs but found nothing so i'm wondering if anyone here could inform me of any striking diference between the Zire 71 and Tungsten E devices.

I checked the specs and they both seem alike, being that the Zire has a slightly faster processor and a built-in camera, but i'm wondering if there is any compatibility issue or something i should know about before making my decision on what to buy.

here are spec links:
Tungsten E

Zire 71

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We don't know all of your requirements, what kind of use you'll have for your PDA.

For me the PDA has to have at least Bluetooth - or wi-fi, to allow me to connect wirelessly to check e-mails for example. None of the models you mention have this feature.

The T|E looks nicer :-)

Seriously though, the Zire 71 has the handy camera (it's kind of neat) and the universal connector. The connector is handy if you want the Palm Thin Keyboard or other addons. If you go for the T|E, you're stuck with the IrDA Keyboard.

Neither had wireless networking, although there's a rumour that a T|E2 may appear soon with some form of it - http://palminfocenter.com/view_story.asp?ID=6591

My choice? I'd go T|E for funky form factor and superb pricing.

I have a T|E myself, but it all depends on what you want to do with it. If you want a fun little machine, get the Z71. If you want a powerful tool, get the T|E. Simple as that.

Wait a little, at least a week from now.
