Hey all - I'm a newbie here.

Checked through archived posts on this challenge that I seem to have with my new iPaq 4355 but could not find any answers so thought I would put up a quick post.

I just got this new PDA - its great - comes with Bluetooth; I opened the bluetooth connections manager software, and went through the steps to 'find' my bluetooth phone, which was on and sitting right next to me.  However the iPaq never found the phone and in fact the bluetooth connection manager seems to have hung on me...had the little 'working' icon in the centre of the screen indicating the search was still on for a good 30 minutes.

I reset the iPaq and turned it back on, however now when I click on the bluetooth connections manager software now, nothing happens - its as if that option isn't available any longer.

Don't know what else to do at this point - any suggestions from those smarter that I am?

Thanks much for looking...

Welcome to Geekzone... Did the Pocket PC have enough memory when you started the Bluetooth search?

Now that Bluetooth doesn't seem to work is a good time to do a hard reset. Sabe all files you have on the Pocket PC (PIM will restored from Outlook or Exchange server) and hard reset it.

Also look in the HP website for updates - there a few for this model. Apply those update after the hard reset.

Hi freitasm,

Thanks for your reply....much appreciated.

The Pocket PC did have enough memory when I started the Bluetooth search...

I did a soft reset, and the Bluetooth manager service started working again.

Checked the HP website for updates - and found you are correct, there a few for this model and I applied those.

Now a new issue has arisen with wifi - I've already put up another post on this issue...I was surfing just fine - made no settings changes, and the PDA shows connection to my linksys WAP is solid, but I can't pull up any webpages in pocket IE; I get an error 'page your are looking for can't be found' no matter what page/site I try and surf to.

I have other wifi devices here that are connecting to this same WAP successfully, so its something with the PDA - any suggestions would be appreciated...

Again, thanks sincerely for your reply!

DGM

Hello all,
I am using the PDA namely HP iPaq hx 2795 PDA with Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 running on it. I need to access the bluetooth driver capabilities on the PDA. I found that the PDA supports Widcomm Bluetooth driver instead of the Microsoft Bluetooth driver and my need is to use the Microsoft driver. So it would be great if the list can help me out in answering on how to port the WIDCOMM driver to Microsoft compatible driver or is it possible to have Microsoft driver on this PDA.

Highly appreciate your inputs on this.

with regards
