I recently updated the firmware in my h1945 to 1.10. I am now trying to get ActiveSync to work again (It was working fine before). I am using WindowsXP and a D-Link USB bluetooth adaptor. I have follored the instruction on this site to the letter 3 times now and still no joy. I have also used Peppe's Bluetooth Guides with no luck. Windows sees the pda in its local bluetooth neighborhood. I can successfully make a partnership with the pda and I can create a bluetooth serial connection. What I cannot do is get ActiveSync to see my pda. I am using ActiveSync version 3.7.1 build 4034 and my bluetooth software is WIDCOMM 1.4.1 build 6. My bluetooth serial post is set to COM5 in my Local Services tab under my bluetooth tray icon advanced. Under the Client Applications tab, the bluetooth serial port is using COM8. In ActiveSync>File>Connection Settings, I have Allow Serial Cable Or Infrared Connection to this Port checked and set to COM5. If I do a File>Get Connected... and let the search process run, it shows that COM1 to COM9 are all open but then it gives me this:

I've run out of ideas. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

You should revisit the guides. The configuration you wrote is correct: use the COM port defined as Service, in your case COM5. But remember that you have to configure the Activesync Bluetooth on your h1945 and Start the ActiveSync action from your Pocket PC.

The discovery function on Activesync on your computer will not find the Pocket PC because they're not connected yet - this will only happen when you initiate the actions from your Pocket PC.
