I called Vodafone the other day and changed from a 200meg to a 15meg data plan for my N73 (I wasnt using much more than 15meg a month).

Since the change my Windows Live Messenger app says "Connecting to server failed, please try again later". I called Vodafone and they say they can't help me as they dont support this app. It worked fine before the change of data plan.

Does anyone have an idea why this would be and how to fix it? I use the APN "VFNZ Internet" for the connection over a 3G UMTS connection.

WLM Issue

Is this the only app failing? Can you access other Internet services? Tried the direct APN?

Try changing the APN for the "vfnz Internet" connection from "www.vodafone.net.nz" to just "internet"

I just got this phone and it's appaling, Very slow and very limited in functions, I'm trademeing it and cutting my losses.
Good reception but back to the Nokia 6234. it works much better overall.

ok I eat my words, It was old software, Really old. It came with a datacable! I was not expecting that but there it was parked in the bottom of the box so flashed it just now.

I just upgraded it through NSU (and am about to embark on ripping the freshly downloaded files to bits)

It's cured the major problems I was having like the 1 second shutter delay and stuttery video.

Now to hack the productcode (Nemesis tool) and try and flash the Music ed software through NSU. ;-)

Ok... more on topic.. Adam......

Edit the VFNZ Internet connection setting and where you see it saying APN:"www.vodafone.net.nz" change that to just "internet"

See this post for more details... It also removes that horrible "optimisation" pixellation.

I can use opera perfectly in this mode, looks stunning.

Date, Time and Time Zone all correct. The app was working absolutely fine until the data plan change at midnight on Moday.

Yes, and have tried all of them as a matter of course. Again, The was working absolutely fine until the data plan change at midnight on Moday.

The fact it didnt work on Tuesday morning (after the data plan change) may be a coincidence and the problem is something different, it just seems to fit.
