Heyo, I don't know if this is the proper forum to ask this question, so slap me on the wrist if I am wrong :D
Anywho, I recently purchased a 520 off of TradeMe, kinda a nerve-wracking experience, but the student lifestyle mixed with my want for a decent phone directed me to this auction -- The previous owner mistook it to work on the Vodafone Network, so I assumed it was pretty much brand new.
The phone arrived yesterday, and had obviously been used by the prior owner, so I ran a factory reset on the phone (at this point, everything seemed to be a-ok). I messed around with it overnight, and this morning I headed to the Telecom Store to have my old sim (In an old LG) transferred to micro-sim.
At this point the Telecom employee placed the sim in my new phone, however, he hadn't turned off the phone before taking the battery out - I didn't think anything of it.
But when I left the store, the phone wouldn't turn on, which had me worried - the phone was over 50% last time I checked. I took it back home, then plugged it in, and the phone sprang to life, showing the charging screen with the red battery (My LG did this when it was completely drained). Okaaaaay, now this is weird, it's as if the dude at Telecom has discharged my battery. It has now sat on the charger for about an hour, and still sits in the same state.
So my question is in two parts:
One, does anyone know whats going on with my phone? Has anyone had similar problems and managed to get rid of them?
And Two, if it /is/ worst case scenario and the battery/phone is screwed, what do I do? Do I take it into Telecom and tell them that an employee looks to of broken my phone, or do I have to contact the seller of the TradeMe auction to look for the receipt (if any) and see if I can get a replacement? (I know when and where the phone was purchased (Dick Smiths) but there is no proof of this, and it's in Auckland (I'm in Wellington)). Are there any other (cheap) options of getting the phone fixed through Nokia?
Any help would be awweeeeesome. I'd prefer a non-spending route, but even now $200 is kinda a scary amount to lose.
Thanks.
