OK, I think Skype sucks, I prefer REAL sip clients ans standards.

I'm looking to use the n95 as a SIP client which is coming my way come monday. (Chinese market version)

But will it connect to standard services such as italk or VFX? I should be able to use it with HSDPA too if the need should arise.

I use my E65 (same SIP stack as N95) with my Asterisk box here at home and it works well. There should be nothing to stop you hooking it up directly to iTalk (I have not tried this yet) however you won't be able to hook it up to VFX simply because they will only allow supported devices to connect to the network.

Cheers Sbiddle, ,I'm almost done to getting the thin clients running as Asterisk PABX's, then it's a fanless, heatless, uses 740mA at 12v, small device than can be compared to a NORMAL PABX of old, I'm about to blog the neato little USB stick i'll be using shoved in the port..... now I just need to get a good, small distro of linux running and get some crack for G.729 vocoder., Does-Danm-Small linux work with Asterisk?

I have no idea but I'm sure you could get it going some how..

You could always just get a bigger USB drive which would be plenty of space for a better distro such as CentOS and Asterisk+FreePBX

What client machine are you messing with?

The old HP t5300, Pictured here with a hard drive but I won't be using that.

Though I do have another random Taiwanese one, This has a 4GB IDE-Flash in the IDE channel and support for 1 PCI device along with 512MB ram (sooo much ram for such a slow device!) so really would be better.

No just setup the phone! I have tried but it cannot seem to register on the server drat......

How is your setup? mine had Proxy server setting then it also has identical fields under account settings, Confusing as. Great phone but.
