I have an HTC 8s the WP8 updates always want to download and install more than once, they will repeat two sometimes three times .
My sons Nokia 820 will exhibit the same behaviour. Any ideas why this is happening?

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I tend to keep my phones stock, not even using a non standard launcher on the S3.

The HTC has just prompted to do a third download. I may do a reset.

did it start the update and cancel three times it because your battery wasn't charged enough, or because it said you needed to be plugged into a power source?

The phone was connected to the power source, also the updates didn't cancel, they went through the fall process and restart each time.

Have installed three updates on my HTC 8X since I got it. Weird that two different devices would have the same problem, perhaps corrupt download? Tried on a different Internet connection?

My 8S installed a couple of updates recently, but only after I reset it to factory, they have too little RAM to update if you have more than a few apps installed.

My son doesn't live with us, he has his own home and is on Slingshot I am on Telecom. We discovered that we were both experiencing this when I asked if he ever had this issue as he has been using Windows Phone 8 for longer than me.

I thought about that given the meagre space and ram the HTC 8s has but my sons Nokia 820 has 1GM Ram and 8GB space.

My 8s installed a couple of updates on Tuesday morning. The first time round it was what I assume is GDR3 then after a restart it then prompted to install an HTC update. Perhaps you got an old update, then GDR3 then the HTC one all in a row?
