Hi ,I have a question .I am interested in buying a motorola v600 and the only thing i can't find any info on is if the existing PPC SMS software works with it . I am refering more to the synching of sms messages rather than just sending them.

If anyone could find out ,i'd be grateful .

thanks

It's not easy to know. We'll need someone that tried it before. The reason for that is that some mobile phones use different storage for the SMS and different set of AT commands to manipulate them. I used to have SimpleSMS on my iPAQ when I had my Ericsson T39m, but when I moved to a Nokia 3650 that stopped working. It didn't work with my Sony Ericsson P800 either, and now I have a Windows Mobile Smartphone so I'd not need a SMS app on my iPAQ for now.

Let's see if other V600 users can comment on this request.

As an update, check this thread and then page two of this other thread.

It seems that a few people reported problems with V600 and Bluetooth. Make sure to test the mobile before purchasing it.

thanks for those 2 threads but the first thing i did was to search the forum and those 2 threads don't answer my question and sadly ,the phone will be oldered ,so the only "test" i can do is to see if the screen will the a sharp by checking the serial

The v600 and pocket pc are a bloody nightmare. I'm still trying to connect them together. I can create a bond between my mio 558 and v600 but have not tested it as a bluetooth modem. However, I can't create a virtual port from which to use an SMS program. I've been using BTTools to map my Nokia 6310i to a virtual com port but the v600 isn't recognised :-(. I've emailed the author the problem and hope they have a solution, but would be interested to know if anybody else has found a solution.

Cheers

I use an iPaq 2210 and a V600 with 1.10. I just installed EasySMS and tried to send an SMS, failed first time as I hadn't set anything up! I selected BTC1 as the Port and no problems at all. Not sure why, but it did...!
