You should be able to create a new Connection on your Pocket PC, and select the "Generic IrDA" as a modem. Then align the devices, and try connecting.

In addition to this, you need to add a string for it to work properly with your iPaq. The string is +CRM=1;+CSO=33

This works great on our CDMA 1X network here in Panama.

Now, the same string is suppoused to work on Palms too. It does work, but the performance is terrible. I did a hotsync with this phone using a cable and it took me about a minute. I did the same with the IR interfase and it never completed the process. I kept getting a "communications lost" message.

Is there another string for Palm that I could try?

I am trying to figure out how to use the 6585 modem via IR. Documentation seems to suck.

Can anyone point me in the direction of instructions on how to use.

I have the modem detected as a Generic IR modem in XP SP1, but if I ry to dial out it says that the port is already in use.

Thanks
