Hi

We have an issue with several of our devices (a miixture of Telecom Apache & Treo 750wx) where they "lose" the password to connect to the internet.

i.e. The ISP settings where the username is mobile@jamamobile and the password is telecom. For some reason, the password seems to randomly clear and users have to re enter it.

Any idea why?

Dave

As far as I'm aware, sometimes if the device attempts to connect but fails for some reason, it is typically read as a 'password failure' and prompts the user to reenter the 'correct' password.

I've seen it happen on other, older devices before... however have noticed it on my Treo 700wx time to time.

Coincidentally, I was just discussing this on the train with an IT manager from a government department last night.  He indicated that they have had this issue with some regularity (wasn't more specific) on their staff's devices.  I have had an Apache for more than 18 months now and it has only ever happened to me twice - both in the last 3-4 months - not a big enough issue for me to get too concerned about at this stage.

The problem has occured at least once with every one of our devices so I'm sure it is a device/os issue. It occurs more frequently with some users and I have no idea why.

We are having the very same problem with our staff, using both Treo's and Apache's. I wonder if it may have something to do with a failed connection due to poor coverage areas as it appears to happen when the staff are out and about in Central Otago.

Good to hear that we arn't the only one's.

I have had the Harrier, Apache and Treo 700wx and it only happened once - I think it was when some of their authentication server didn't work well and the device received an "incorrect password" or similar response, prompting it to ask for the password again.

Now that you say it it was with my Apache.

I Spoke to telecom yesterday and their technical support team have no knowledge of this issue and have said they would know about it if there was a major issue!

How many others have experienced this?
