Any word as to which carrier will have in stock? Thanks in advance.

How about other BlackBerry models? I saw Vodafone still has the Z10 and the Q5 on line.

The Classic for the die hards, the Z20 for those that want to upgrade from the Z10 also predicted to be announced.

I'd been keen to know too. It sure has a rather unusual keyboard setup and I would love some hands on time with it.

Well, I went to the local store and met a ninja, he looked it up, and said that there is no news. It could be that it is for such a niche market that Vodafone possibly not getting it. I have posted this question in their forums as well.

BlackBerry 10 and Blend will make it easier for you to do business, as you can control your mobile from your PC securely. I am looking at getting it direct from the shopblackberry.com and get it shipped to my colleague in Michigan, and he will send it via FedEx.

If any of you interested, let me know, we can split the FedEx cost.

Otherwise, Optus will certainly get them in Australia. Let the waiting game begins. But at $599 US, it's a good deal IMO.

wow - never thought people would still be into Blackberry.

You could always get it sent by Youshop - I got my Moto G sent that way.

I don't know when those shops would have them though. You should really give BB10 a go. It runs almost all android apps with ease, and with the kind of processing power the passport has got, can't go wrong.

Plus their desktop software (BlackBerry Blend) can be run on iPads, Android tablets (4.4 up), and PC.

I am just amazed how NZ folks are misinformed on BlackBerry.

I have a Z10 and am interested in upgrading to a Passport. I'd like a chance to try it out though. Hopefully a parallel importer will get them in if the carriers don't.

I have all my BB still functions. 7105 to 9900 all working, but I just can't imagine using BBOS in this day and age lol

The Note 1 was a similar shape too. It was wider than the Note 2/3. Not quite as square as the passport though.

Yeah, they're similar in size, but width wise, I think passport is the widest. I am just super excited with the phone, the eco system with blend coming available etc.

It is! Can't imagine having limited access to media. BB 10 on the other hand is awesome!

Hi guys,

As I've mentioned on Twitter and Vodafone Community, there are no plans to range the Passport in New Zealand. It is unfortunately too niche a device that would need more traction in the enterprise space to take off here.

That said, I have been lucky enough to play with one, it's very cool - and very different. Both HD Voice and 4G are all go. Screen is great, battery life is solid, capacitive keyboard is an incredibly clever idea, it multitasks fluidly, and is wonderful to bang out emails and messages on. I'm sure anyone who's into it and picks one up won't want to put it down again.

Cheers,

 - Nik

Thanks, is there a setting in the community that I get notified via email when I get a reply? I didn't notice your reply from 5 days ago lol.

Anyway, I am happy that all works, as there is only one model for the entire world of this device. I look forward to getting it in from somewhere!

There sure is - My Settings/Preferences/Automatically subscribe me to topics I participate in. :)

One global model makes things a fair bit easier, eh? Shame there's no band 28 support, hopefully future models will bundle that in.

Thanks for that!

I see that AU and NZ are the only ones using band 28 LTE, any particular reason why that is?
