please help if you can. i have installed and properly paired my bluetooth adapter and sony clie ux-50. i have set up the connection on my clie as directed for bluetooth sync. but i now get:

"Unable to initiate HotSync operation becasue the port is in use by another application"

i have my usb adapter plugged into a hub that hosts my wireless mouse and keyboard but i didn't think that would matter. for the record, the COM port in setup is assigned to the COM port in my device manager assigned to bluetooth.

thanks.

It sounds like the COM port select on Hotsync is already in use. Do you have ActiveSync, an external modem, or a Bluetooth mobile phone with synchronisation software configured to use this port?

Check that you have select the Incoming COM port as the one under the Local Services, not Clients in your Bluetooth configuration

ok...here's the weird thing....by the way...i have rebooted my computer a few times...

yesterday, i finally got it to sync. it was no problem but check this out, i had to go to my "bluetooth neighborhood" and highlight the PDA in the list. i did not change any of the configurations or properties but once i clicked it (single click) i was able to sync through....

this kinda defeats the purpose, i would like for this to be seamless....any suggestions?

Good that it syncs. But do you have to click on the icon every time, or is it working since then? Also, remember the Hotsync must be initiated from the PDA.

actually, i had to click...highlight the PDA icon in the bluetooth configuration and then silk the hotsync button on the PDA everytime. i ended up re-installing the palm software. deleting all the previous versions...and now it works fine. thanks for the input...it has been a struggle... whew.....
