I have just noticed that when I checked whether I can upgrade Firmware using the upgrade manager that came with the PC Suite that a upgrade to v 12 is now available.
So here goes

Yup-thats why I thought this a useful post.
Went relatively harmless.
Phone died afterwards however-installing then everythiung went black -oh no I thought.
I just removed the battery anbd everything is fine.

V 12.0.013 is the version.
However I seemed to have lost the Live icon on the main screen- managed to set the soft key to have txt showing Vodafone Live however

PS-I did a complete Back up before hand to be on the safe side

Went fine for me except factory defaulting all the settings which is very very and did I say very annoying, took me weeks to work out how to change my ring tone , wall paper and to also resort all my contacts Cry....but apart frm that was pretty painless upgrade and yes mine too is a Vodafone N95

Ah awesome, will try it out tonight! Yea sounds like a full backup is the way to go, although sometimes people have issues restoring across different versions. Will just stick my contacts in outlook to be safe. Bring on A-GPS!

I used my back up to restore and it worked a treat.
I wassnt too worried re contacts as they are all in Outlook.
But the settings as well was very usefull-kept my screensaver and rings etc the same as I had before.
Only thing i noticed was the missing VF live icon as the Soft key shortcut-but no biggie

I read somewhere that Nokia took the APAC V12 off the site for a couple of weeks to improve the firmware. Good to see it is back up. I am going to upgrade tomorrow!:)

By the way, I have also read that people in Europe who have upgraded to v12 started to notice some of their key presses are being missed as they type texts. Seen this behaviour with APAC v12?

Updated mine last night, went pretty smoothly took about an hour overall. Only issue i had was with vista and content copier (crashing it), this was resolved by launching the backup file itself (from appData) and all was good. Only thing it didn't restore was my shortcuts in the multimedia menu - no biggie.

The A-GPS is excellent, very quick locking. Haven't noticed the keypad bug, but time will tell.

That's cool, looks like the APAC version is better than the European version. The key press issue is no longer there when text messaging.

I will update mine tonight:)

Sync - 3 button format - firmware update - config - sync - re-install apps.

So it takes a bit of time, but it's the best way to ensure the new firmware will be as bug free as possible.

Wow, after upgrading to v12, the battery life has been amazing!  I still have 40% battery power left after 3 days of use!

What does it say when you try to update?  Where was your phone bought from?

So you have version 11? Hmm that is strange.  Looks like you just might have to wait a little longer.

With version 12, the images and videos open are extremely fast and the battery life is much improved.
