Partner has a new 720, and is going away for a week in UK.

Is it ok to have same Live ID active on two phones at once?

How easy is it to switch to a new phone?

its easy if you're on 8.1 as you can do a backup restore

You can have multiple phones using the same Microsoft Account, but really its a personal account, so you probably don't want to share them across people

Yes, upgrade first and let it create a backup. Then when setting up the new one you can just restore - apps, settings, etc.
