Guys, well I should have waited for the NZ edition I guess but the Palm Europe Web Site quite happily gave me the VFE WM6 download using my NZ Palm device serial number (resulting in the download called Treo750_2_18_VFE_DesktopUpdater.exe) from http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=EUPalmSupportWKB,TS=PalmEUWKB_UK,case=obj(2031) - I successfully upgraded my 750v and it works great with all of the cool new WM6 features including making calls on the Vodafone NZ network, sending and receiving txt messages.  But alas I cannot RECEIVE any incoming calls.  What a pig ... its 99% perfect and I get side-swiped by a really important function.  So, why can I make outgoing calls no worries and not receive any (the caller just goes straight to voicemail or gets the "disconnected" tone).  Does anyone know what to do?  Failing that I will have to go back to WM5 and I don't actually know how to do that either.  I'm a bit annoyed as I thought the VFE edition of WM6 was the correct official version for NZ also. Thanks!

There's a long discussion about Treo 750v and Windows Mobile 6, and on page six there's a link to an updater that will fix this. Alas it seems it will also remove the HSDPA feature.

Well as far as I am concerned, you are God !!  I downloaded T750URT.exe from http://www.palm.com/nz/support/downloads/treo/750vupdate_recovery.html and ran this following the instructions.  (Note: ONLY run T750URT.exe from the "Download Recovery Tool" link, NOT the 1.16 updater mentioned at the bottom of the article).  Now I have WM6 and a working phone with inbound and outbound calling.  After a few hours of playing with this version of WM6 the only small cosmetic thing I can find wrong is that it puts a NZ phone number such as (04) 123-1234 in the call log as (041) 231-234.  But I don't care as that it purely cosmetic.  Mate you are a legend, this forum and web site is the best on the planet.  Please email me your contact details so I can send you a token of my appreciation.  I am very very happy!  Cheers

Glad to know it's working now Mike... I have the AT&T version of Windows Mobile 6 running on my Treo 750v, but I will wait for the New Zealand version later.

The best gift you can give us is spreading the word about Geekzone :)

i updated my unit with the same WM6 ROM and i'm getting incoming calls, HSDPA and everything else working as expected.  I didnt even have to make any settings changes as everything was automatically set to VFNZ.

it puts a NZ phone number such as (04) 123-1234 in the call log as (041) 231-234.

well thats odd..... mine doesnt do that at all.  i get 041231234 in the log in that instance and 021123456 for mobile numbers, for example
