Is it just me or are the Nokia NZ maps not accurate? I have watched my current position when travelling from central Auckland to the Western Springs exit of the North Western Motoryway. I can see the correct roads on the map including the on/off ramps but the current position indicator shows I am in a location at least 30 meters away (not even on a road!).

The same happened with me. I drove on Tamaki Dr from St Heliers to CBD while watching the GPS and I was 30 m away from the road.
The funny thing is that I only experienced this after updated the Maps application in the phone and downloaded the NZ maps again. With the old version of sw and maps it was okay.

30m is the around the worst accuracy the N95 should get, most people experience between 10 and 30m with considerable variability within sessions. I've generally found it good, for the most part the problems with being "off the road" are related to the road positioning being so poor. That said I've not updated to the new maps or map software.

Do the new maps have any more detail?

Well that confirms it - the current Nokia maps are rubbish!

Not only are lots of roads missing and not named, the roads in my area are in the wrong place on the maps!

I have installed MGMaps with the Google map files and I would say that is never more than 5metres out when showing where I am on the map.  Maybe it is just the maps in my area (Pt Chevalier - Central Auckland) ...
