OK after much searching and reading especially in geek zone i have decided and purchased a imate Jasjam.
It arrives next week.
It will come loaded with tomtom maps and all i will need is the bluetooth receiver I THINK!
i purchased this phone from aussie,. and have no need of the tomtom stuff. I was told i can transfer the maps to the memory card and my partner who visits that place often,( i hate flying and will not get into any plane!) and put them in her navman and use them over in aussie. is this right?.
Is there anything we should know about this. ie , i dont want to break my new toy and she doesnt want to mess up her navman.

thanks and again let me say this is a great site for people like me who want all these fun toys but not sure which ones. I am a seriously careful person with my phones and take extra care of all my geekie things

regards dee

While I am not certain, I'm pretty sure (to a fair few decimal points of accuracy) that Tomtom maps won't work in a Navman device.

I'm wondering, why aren't you buying it from NZ? One thing I know (if importing from outside NZ), you'd be paying for the GST and duty fee for importing goods.

I got mine last Nov from my local IT channel paid around $1350, saved $300 off Vodafone's retail.

Unless of course if it is sent to you as a 'gift' and the sender lists the price as only a few hundred dollars ...

That's very true Chiefie. Tempting though isn't it if it's several hundred dollars or so saved. And who's to say there's no cover for damage etc by the sender?
