Hi all, i am lookin for the standard WM5 Telecom ROM for my HTC Titan.  If any one can help it would be much apreciated.  ImCoKeMaN from PPCGeeks can run you through the process of dumping the ROM from your device.

Hello

Is this for updating your own Pocket PC back to the original?

Yes, Steve unlocked his Titan and flashed a US ROM to it, but did not remove the radio ROM first so now unless we can get somebody with a Titan to dump the Telecom settings it is a bricked Titan.

Mine is of no use since its running WM6 (with no issues at all)

Returning to a Telecom store for repair is not an option?

I have a Titan running Windows Mobile 5. I am just worried that this ROM is not to be used for creating other, cooked, ROMs. If it's for a repair then I could help.

The only problem is that I am running Windows Vista and most tools require Windows XP...

No it wouldn't be, the US carriers have made their ROMs freely available on the net so anyone who wants to be cooking ROMs would be using a US WM6 ROM not a Telecom WM5 one.

Taking it back to Telecom is an option, but they will send it away for a week or so to reflash it.

Hi freitasm, I don’t want to cook the ROM i just want to restore to the original state.  I guess i could take it in but they will charge and i will be phone less for a few weeks.  I would have thought TNZ would have included a backup/restore on the CD that came with the device. Worst case i could wait for an update but that could be years away if one is made available.

Hi nzbnw, this was fine on my Apache, no good for my Titan.

Hi bradstewart, i guess i should have started here rather than ppcgeeks being a NZ forum.

If the instructions work on Windows Vista, flick them to me on a PM and I will see if I can get that.

Tools required: itsutils - http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/download/itsutilsbin-20070323.zip

- Dock your Titan and make sure its synced with activesync
- Create a new directory (our 'working directory'), e.g. C:\ROM.
- Open a command prompt in the your working directory.
- Extract the itsutils download to your working directory.
- Type 'pdocread -l' at the command prompt. This will produce output similar to below, these are the addresses of the ROM sections.

If this fails, download ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/Colonel/colonel%20MogulRegEntries.cab and install that onto your device. Failing that try changing the reg key "HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\1001" from 2 to 1.

It was pretty much all ImCoKeMaN's work, I just followed his instructions and uploaded the data.

I also want to thank bradstewart for giving me a helping hand with my affairs too. :p
