I have a Harrier phone and went through all the instructions from Microsoft for how to update these kind of phones, installed the latest active sync which is just as bad as the other version, they all seem to stop responding at times.
also run a patch that had been downloaded, changed the time manually to another time zone then changed it back.
Thought it had worked after that but then it changed back.
This is really frustrating as it syncs with my Outlook and the times are all wrong.
There must be other people out there with similar problems.
Would love to hear about them.

Vicki

Just change the time on Clock. It happened to my Titan once, but after changing the time (keeping the correct timezone of course) it is working fine.

Make sure you change the timezone to Tonga. The Harrier does not have a DST patch so if it takes the time from the network it will automatically go back one hour.

Have done that and yes it does give it the correct time but shouldnt the DST patch do it as well?
How does that work tho with the daylight saving at the other end?
Do Telecom not have a workaround for this?  Or is this one of those things they just ignore and hope it goes away?

Regards Vicki

The patch is for Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6. I think there's another non-official patch for Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition in the MSDN NZ DST Blog.

If it's running Windows Mobile 2003, then there is no patch for it...

Yes have figured that out and kind of thought there would not be a fix, that is the way it goes with my phone etc

Oh well at least it will change when Daylight saving does come in :)

Thanks for help :)

Cheers Vicki

By the way a new Battery fixed my problem with the phone disconecting all the time when answering callsetc.

turtle63, I also have a Harrier and successfully downloaded and applied the unofficial patch that freitasm refered to at MSDN NZ DST Blog

See also the earlier posts at http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=6&TopicId=16177 where I asked a similar question.

HI Allan,
had another look at that article, i had previously checked it out but didn't go there as didn't think it would work for my phone.
Went through the process and everything worked until it got to waiting for it to change time at 2.00am, nothing happened then it rolled over to 2.01am, thought that was a bummer it hadn't worked, put it back on the cradle and it changed the date and time back to todays and guess what it picked up the correct time for daylight saving so it did work, just in a round about way.

Brilliant, thanks heaps guys.

Cheers Turtle63

Yes it did work a little oddly for me too. I installed it a couple of days prior to the new start of DST and when I tested the rollover, it worked fine and the time moved from 1:59am to 3:00am. I then put it back to real date and time, but when it came to the actual day, the time didn't change. However, I just changed the time myself and all my calendar items are correctly in sync and properly relative to other time zones.

Glad it worked for you.
