Am thinking of sending back my E90 because its riddled with problems and replace it with a P1i. Am concerned about all my contacts. In particular a lot of my contacts have more than one mobile phones against their name. will i lose this? perhaps what i should really be asking is how can i transfer my contacts etc backed up on the nokia pc suite to the P1i without losing any data or having any field adjustments? I know that the process of first taking it first to outlook before the ultimate destination does cause loss of fields i.e. outlook doesn't handle multiple mobile numbers for a contact

Can you transfer the contacts to something like Thunderbird first? There must be a non-Outlook solution that works.

Incidentally, did you get one of the early batches of E90's? Sounds like they really had problems with those ones.

Can you elaborate on your list of "problems"?

Mine has a few bugs but I love it!

Yes, i got on of the early ones. What is this thunderbird then?

The problems i have are essentially a) sometimes the menu keys freeze up. When this happens you might have to do a reset by removing the battery. B) sometimes you getting a buzzing noise when you receive a call and you don't here the person on the other side, and c) once i had to take it back to Nokia because the screen went blank.

Cool thanks. I've only experienced b) and it is a known issue. Next time I'm in Oz I'm going to get a Nokia Care Centre to fix it under warranty, they just replace the microphone apparently.

Cheers.

mdbelgore,

Thunderbird is an email client developed by Mozilla, the same organisation that provides the Firefox browser. I use Thunderbird as my PC's email client, and have found it to be excellent.

I doubt you will be able to transfer your contacts list without changing field details etc, as the Nokia and SE PC Suites won't talk to one another. I suspect you will have to enter them manually into the new handset.

If you do aquire a P1i, I for one would be most interested to read your impressions!

Good luck,

George
