Does any one know if push email can be switched off on this device and how?

I haven't checked the agent, however I would look under the activesync application specially the around the activesync config (and peak times)

Just change the ActiveSync option from "When new mail arrives" to "Never".

I've moved this thread to "Windows Mobile".

Cheers guys

I found it in the manual (of all places!).

1 On the phone Home screen, press [Start], select
ActiveSync and press O [OK].
2 Press the right soft key > [Menu] select
Schedule and press O [OK].
3 Do one or both of the following:
• In Peak times, select As items arrive. This is more costefficient
to synchronise at regular intervals when mail
volume is high.
• In Off-peak times, select As items arrive. This can
be more cost-efficient than synchronising on a regular
schedule when mail volume is low.
4 Press [Done]

Yes, Geekzone is much better than any user manual. I just found the OS a little differnt to use compared to a PDA (as expected) and never thought to look under schedule? I've just turned off Push Email on another guys phone to see how much the battery life increases. I find with my Apache I get about a day with exhange/push email. Turning push email off helps alot, so hopefully it will help here.

Telecom generally do good Manuals and they are usually well worth reading, I just read one of my old ones and discovered how to add words to the T9 dictionary of a TX21b!!

I had ditched that otherwise decent and slim phone for that very reason for a stupid 2280 so I could "add T9 words"
