OK, I thinking of making the leap to Blackberry & I can 'justify' the price on either a Q5 or the Q10.
Not worried about the megapixels, what else should I consider?
GPS, useful, but not essential.
Keypad spacing... well I don't have the fattest fingers.
20gram weight difference... meh!

Can either create a Hotspot?

Both have a LED notification lite right?
Can SMS from a windows desktop?
Mostly useable on 2deg, or would skinny be better?

Any good deal/place to buy?

Need to get 2 years of use out of it before upgrading (yeah right!)

First and foremost what's your budget. Q10SQN100-3 in expertinfot is about 400. Classic is 650 at Vodafone.

I'd go skinny as you won't have any interrupted services.

As to the rest. Answer is yes.

Can they handle speech to TXT?
I miss the keyboard SO MUCH.

Been with 2deg for 5years so a new Phone = new Network

Hmm that's oz bucks. 2deg is fine for most part not BBM while on cellular data. Nor BB protect. BB assistance works well.

Look on pricespy.

OK the Q10 has left HK & I've put for my number to transferred from 2Deg. to Skinny.
Just a few days more till I'm a BlackBerry

Well the website does very good job of telling you at what stage the order is at, so that helps a lot to ease the WHATS HAPPENING syndrome.
The phone has now been dispatched via HK so should be in AKLD tomorrow & should be at my door Monday.

I've had two ACER Android phones with Keyboards & were VERY good (for a 2.2) & 1x Nokia S40 (Asha 303) also a Great Phone.
I have a Win81Tablet so don't need a FAT smartphone & was almost tempted to go back to my 5y old Nokia 2720 folder with Bluetooth tethering on the Tablet.

So hopefully this BlackBerry is the CRACK

You'd love the Q10, for the price. It's a powerful little thing, and with the latest OS being released, ...

My android ANZ apps work fine (that's the gomoney for checking balances and fast pay for taking payments).

It's a pocket rocket!

Q10 arrived 8:50am this morning.
Downloading a 1008megabyte update & installing now.

Since it's a Q10 SQN100-3 (RFN81UW) do I get 4G here in NZ?

What version of the firmware is it downloading? I am pretty sure 10.3.1 has been pulled but if it hasn't don't load it yet... in some areas you should get 4G
