Sorry if this is a really basic question, but I have only just got my iPAQ and need some help.

I have a HP iPAQ 1945 which will take SD cards and so I have been looking around the net for SD cards. What I can't understand is the price differences - some are available for around about £30 where as others of the same sizw are £100+.

Can I use the cheaper cards in my iPAQ and if so are there any drawbacks?

Thanks in advance

Yes, the card should work ok. Sometimes prices are a reflection of the QA (Quality Assurance) processes put in place by the manufacturer. You might find that both cards work ok, but the cheaper one fails more times than the more expensive one (in statistical terms, not in number of times your card will have a problem).

Of course the more expensive one can fail too, and could be yours. It's a balance, really.

Thanks for the info -I thought that may be the case, but as I said this all new to me.

When I get a card is it just a matter of inserting it into the slot and the iPAQ will know its there, or are the settings which I need to change?

Thanks again

Simply insert the card and it should be ready to work. Nothing to change or configure.

Cheers - I will get one of the cheaper cards and see how I get on.
