Bit of a blast from the past. My father (who is in sixties) has killed his Nokia candybar. In a previous job I worked for a Telco but have exhausted my supply of phones. Dug out my N8 (which I paid for) and my brother's one which the internal speaker stopped working on.

I've gone to wipe them both, my brother's never had a pin, was hard reset fine using the three finger technique. Yet my one is asking for a pin? Which is fine, I thought. Used my 5 digit one, nope, tried 4 digits. And I'm stumped. I've always used the same pin number for phones.
I can't figure out how to reset the phone. Obviously if the other one was working properly I'd simply give dad that one.
Is there something I'm missing here? It's been quite sometime since I've used Symbian.

Presso: this might help.

Cheers for the link. I think I may have bricked it previously. I might see if I can pull it apart and take the speaker out and put it in the other one.
