When I try to use Bluetooth Manager from my Ipaq 5450 I get this error message: The Bluetooth Radio failed to turn on due to insufficient driver memory available You must perform a normal reset before you can turn on the Bluetooth Radio

Doing a normal reset brings no relief. I have downlaoded the Bluetooth Manager update and that makes no difference. Doesa nyone in this forum have any ideas? HP active chat assistance has nothing to suggest

Thanks in advance

The memory on a Pocket PC is dynamic. It's shared between storage and applications. sometimes you simply run out of memory to start a program.

Check if you can remove any program, perhaps remove some programs and install on an external SD card?

Another question: have you installed any other update lately?

That is the odd thing, I do not have any programmes installed other than the ones left after the hard reset I just performed

And you have not installed any major update, like Windows Mobile 2003 or other ROM upgrades?

You say you have the h5450. Is this update the one for this specific model? Updates for other models (h3970, h3870) will not work. Also installing an update for a non-Bluetooth version on top of a Bluetooth handheld will cause problems. The update must come from HP, in a sealed envelope with a sticker outside containing a Microsoft Outlook registration key.

There were a couple of updates going around the internet. These are not official, and caused problems too.

I have a feeling that my update was obtained on the Internet and it seems that therein lies the problem. Thanks very much for your time and trouble in trying to assist me.

I have a clean default Windows Mobile 2003 install on a QTek 9090 (or is that SmartPhone 2003?) wich gives me the same trouble. ActiveSync over Bluetooth works once, after that I have to take out the battery (soft reset doesn't help ??) before I can use it again. No matter how much memory there is available. Haven't installed anything yet.
