I seem to have lost the ability to connect to web pages through IE on my 700wx. Every page I try to navigate to returns the error message "page cannot be found" - when connected either through the EVDO connection and when it's hooked up to my Windows Mobile Device Center. It worked fine before I took it into a Telecom shop last week where they fixed my Xtra connection issues (the Bubble strikes again).

The only connection settings I can find are the "My ISP" and they seem fine to my inexpert eye but, as the same problem occurs when connected to my PC, there shouldn't be an issue there. It seems to me that this could be a proxy thing but I can find any proxy settings.

Any pithy words of advice?

Providing your device actually got Internet access (and you haven't changed the connection settings), then...

On your device close all applications (Start | Settings | System | Memory), then open File Explorer, browse to \Windows and tap on welcome.exe to run it. Follow the instructions, and at the end open Internet Explorer again.

Sorry MF, no go there. Looks like it's another trip to the local Telecom shop on Monday (incidentally, Telecom Lambton Quay... totally excellent service!!).

sounds likes it has dropped the connection settings, go settings, connections, connections, manage existings settings, there should be a t3g name, click edit,  leave Name as T3G, modem should be cellular line, next  dial numbe should be #777,  next user name should be mobile@jamamobile password telecom domain is blank then save, now try connect to internet page

Those connection settings are still there. Besides, I don't think it's the connectivity as the same problem is there when connected to the Internet through my PC. Also, with both the T3G connection and the PC connection, the phone still accesses my POP email fine, so it just looks like the browser.

On my iPaq (running 2003), I've had a similar issue after being connected to my work's network and I've had to manually turn off the proxy settings, but no proxy details are showing in the WM5 connection settings... all I have listed is "My ISP".

Took the easier road and just did a hard reset (thankfully hadn't set up too much stuff). Everything works fine now!
