I have had it with HP, first I have a h5455 with wm2003, just out of warranty.
It will cost 35.00 dollars for phone tech support with no guarantee.
The problem began with wm2003 many crashes and hard resets.
Now I can`t sync it. It says unknown Device.
I`ve tried hard resets, soft resets, delete partnerships, uninstall that usb and reinslall it, uninstall active sync 3.7.1, reinstall active sync.
When Flip start hits the market I will be through with HP!!

Are you connecting the Pocket PC to a USB Hub? Are you sure the Pocket PC does not have a hardware problem? If you're not sure, most companies will charge a fee to look into the problem. And I bet whatever device you buy, it'll be the same.

hi, i am facing the same problem too with my IPAQ. I have experienced

shrinking menu (few menus shrank, for example the choice among transcriber, keyboard, etc menu, this menu shrank so i cannot read)

error background screen (the screen is so confused of itself it just flips through several different displays). nothing i can do except hard reset.

touch screen often fails (in the middle of me writing something it is just not touchable, i have to soft reset)

I notice that after a hard-reset, you cannot use the previously used name for your IPAQ. I thought that by doing hard-reset, you are killing every data in your IPAQ and restoring default applications?

And some other minor ones that I dont really mind. But day by day, I am thinking that my particular PDA IPAQ 2210 is malfuctioned.. Does anybody experience the same thing? I have several third party programs installed in my PDA such as flexwallet, IA presenter and acrobat reader. is my PDA acting strangely because of those additional softwares?

When you do a hard reset you also have to delete the partnership on ActivEsync in your computer, and recreate it.

About menus and programs problems... Have you installed any Tweak program, or run any registry editor program lately?

Also, when you find a problem, if you backup and restore your Pocket PC it's most likely the problem will come back with the restore. You have to hard reset and reinstall the programs, not restore a backup. Data on File Sync and Outlook will be restored automatically.

Hi, thanks for the tip on deleting partnership. I just tried this and it worked.

Regarding any tweaking program or registry editor program, I did not install anything like this before. All I installed were Flexwallet, Adobe reader, and IA Presenter (to see powerpoint files).

Now, I just do exactly as you said. hard-reset, and restore data from synchronization from outlook. It is the best. The question is, is it normal to do hard-reset once a week (I have done hard reset twice for the last 2 weeks).
