Hi all, I've got FExplorer on my phone and seem to have deleted a couple of old folders that obviously WEREN'T old!!! I now get a System Error EVERY time I go into a feature or start the phone...

e.g. When I open the camera I get Camera: System Error, when I go into Contacts I get Contacts: System Error...I can receive and make calls and I can receive SMS but cannot send SMS as the input is stuck in numeric mode and cannot be changed.

All my contacts, tunes and pictures are stored on my MMC so an OS full reinstall/trash/rebuild would be fine - but how do I do it???

Many thanks

if i remember correctly, you can reset the phone, but you'll lose all the phone contacts though, which at this stage isn't too much a worry since you're getting system errors.

i couldn't quite remember where or how to get that, it has been a while since i last used my 3650, and i lent it to my sister ever since i got/am using iMate Smartphone2 which does what i want. (imagine better contacts and calendar syncing with MS Outlook without Nokia PC Suite and mRouter to fight with and uncertainty of mapping MS Outlook's fields to Nokia's fields..... *drooooools*

ummmm anyhow, i'll try to get the phone or manual from my sister and check it out for you. I'll keep you posted.

I'm pretty sure *#7370# does a hard-reset (basically restores the phone to factory settings). You'll need to reset all your contacts, GRPS/PXT settings, etc. after that.

Bear in mind that on my 6600 it took quite a while to run. I've heard people say "oh no it just shows the Nokia logo and nothing else". DON'T turn it off if you get impatient. Give it AT LEAST a couple of minutes to complete and it should come up fresh and sparkly!

As usual: "I/we accept no responsibility for use of this code. It is undocumented, not supported by Nokia and should be used at your own risk."

I remember now... if you can get to the phone setting. there's a menu that allow you to reset the phone to default settings (manufacturer setting).

And if i remember correctly, nokia 3650 is preprogrammed with AU and NZ's PXT and Vodafone Live stuff.... look under Phone Tools or System Tools (sorry i couldn't be more direct with the menu structure)...

Like i said, once i can get the phone or the manual i'll let you know. Good Luck!!!

Once you've done the reset, you should be able to grab all the setup info from the phone from here: https://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobiles/05.1_makes_and_models.jsp

That is a bloody useful page! I think I found it in another discussion on Geekzone.

Julian doesn't say where he's based... But if you're in New Zealand, try Wireless Vodafone to reload the phone configuration (GPRS, MMS, SMS, etc). If not, your operator should have a OTA (over the air) configuration tool somewhere...

Thanks guys! The reset code did the trick, lost my contacts but I'm pretty sure I've backed them up previously onto my laptop and you can restore from there.

thanks again.
