Hi everyone. I have a Nokia N-Gage which just shows a white screen when turned on and then turns off after about 10 secs. I have looked on some overseas forums and it seemed like the firmware needed to be updated. I had this done but it hasn't made a difference.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong. I don't want to take it to a service centre if it's going to end up being really expensive (it's not an NZ new phone).

Thanks
Richard

I take that they really have updated the firmware? In any case, remove the battery, remove any MMC card from the phone. Wait a few minutes, insert the battery (not the card) and turn it on again.

Hi Mauricio, tried leave battery etc out for 10 mins and still no joy.

Do you think it could be a hardware issue?

Thanks

Yes... Removing the battery for a while in general does a kind of soft reset. It's better to take to a repair shop. Check mobilephonerepair.com or Accord Customer Care (ACS).

Send it back to nokia they are being very friendly with returns - my mate send his back and got a new one within 2 weeks. Or buy a new one on ebay! for £50.

Good luck

P.S the QD rocks

Hey, I read about this problem in another forum a while before. He said that the Device Memory was finished, so he took the battery out and left it to rest a few hours.

After that, it was all good according to him
