Hi guys Sam here,

I'm just writing to ask about mobile email. I have a Windows Mobile PDA and want to synchronise my yahoo email with it. From looking on the net I came across the below mobile email software and installed a trial of it successfuly.  Seems pretty good so far.  Syncs my mails in real time and I can answer them from my device.

It seems so far to be pretty good, but I was wondering if anyone knows more about this before I bite the bullet??

Thanks in advance for any advise!

Sam Smile

You could just use Yahoo! Go, which is free for all Yahoo! users. It synchronises e-mail, flickr and more.

Hi there and thanks for the tip.

The problem is that that sort of app only checks your email periodically, rather than pushing it to your device whenever it arrives in your inbox.  Always-On Mail keeps a constant connection with your mailbox so that as soon as mail arrives in your account, it is pushed to your device.

The problem with allways on email, is that it would chew through the bandwidth on the phone.

Not much the bandwidth because most of the traffic is downloading e-mails, which would be the same as doing periodical checks on the server.

But battery life does take a hit. I had Direct Push set on my Windows Mobile devices and due to the number of e-mails I receive every day the battery wouldn't last through 16 hours. I've changed it to check e-mail every 15 minutes and now it lasts for two full days.
