I was wondering if anyone out there has tried the SanDisk 8GB microSDHC Card on the n95 classic with success?

Considering purchasing this phone in the very near future and am trying to decide whether to go with a 4GB or 8GB memory card...would hate to buy an 8GB card and find it didn't work.

Apologies if someone else has already asked this and had their question answered!

The 6GB version of that works fine in my E90 and many overseas forums report the 8GB being fine in the N95 so you should be fine.

I've had an 8GB one in mine since last December. Works beautifully, no problems whatsoever.

yea 8gb is sweet as, just make sure u get a sandisk SDHC one. hopefully the 16gb and 32gb sticks that are due out this year will be compatible! that would be sick!

edit: by the way if you're looking to buy a 8gb microSDHC card i think here is where they're cheapest at the mo.

Hey everyone, thanks for your replies. It does indeed look like this will work which is great!

Although it has been pointed out to me that the cost of an 8GB card and N95 classic are quite close to the N95 8GB which has a much better battery life. Guess there is a down side to that though with having integrated mem in that if something goes wrong you risk losing all your data.

yea unfortunately this is to be expected. i expect the 16gb microSDHC cards will be about $250-$300 when they start shipping (next few months if rumours are true) and the 32gb microSDHCs will probably be about $500 or so. just remember memory prices drop fast. especially when a bigger version gets released. i find it highly annoying that my 1gb and 4gb flash drives are practically not worth the material they're built with anymore as you can get brand new ones for as little as $15.

yea eventually probably. there is plenty of other media out there thats tiny tho too. laptop hard drives are already amazingly small for their size frequency, theres the ipod hard drives that i believe are made by samsung? (correct me if im wrong.) i think its more of a question of what companies take advantage of these emerging technologies and provide them in a cost-effective solution for the consumer market. in some areas of IT i hate the competition and would much prefer there to be one or two solid types and do away with the rest of the market but with the memory market i think the competition is making it thrive and also managing to keep prices competitive.

in 5 years time i'll be applying for a patent for 500gb flash drives to be implanted in peoples wrists with a retractable mini-usb cable. however i believe usb is getting old now. we need a much faster transfer speed so i can also get my patent for an external graphics card.
