My Here apps just updated, and now carries a warning that
Here Maps will stop working on Windows 10 Mobile devices on June 30, 2016.

I've found Here excellent on WP8.1.

How does the Windows Maps app compare, for those that are running 10 currently?

Storm in a teacup, IMO. Microsoft's Maps application licenses HERE data so an official HERE application was duplicate effort by HERE and I always found the HERE application unintuitive compared to the official Maps application.

Used to use HereDrive on my 920 Today tried out Maps works well with Cortana giving voice navigation, only been

on a short drive.  Have Cortana setup using USA region and Languages with Windows 10  version 586.107.  HereDrive used the battery up in an

hour or so while on the road.  Hoping Maps may be better. I see there is a later release out today for mobile phones.

Cheers

Done some more testing over 1 Hours drive. Very similar to HereDrive estimated time, distance, speed, speed warning, saving favourites searches destinations with Cortana etc.

Looks like it easier on battery consumption hard to say really as my 920 I think is getting a bit sick Will try off-line maps and see how that is

also turn off Wi-Fi and see if that makes a difference.  Maps still don't show new Waikato expressway Cambridge By-pass but I guess that will come.

Cortana works through Bluetooth on car radio.  Looks promising with the demise of Here.

On the same page in the Here Drive app as the warning about 30th of June, the logo is shown as "here: Maps for Life".

I very much liked Here Transit. Sad it's gone, won't install, claims it's incompatible.
