ok ... before anyone starts crucifying me, yes i have used the search box on the top of the forums and on the left hand side and have not found too much info about my new phone, SE W950 and the internet is getting too much of chore trying to find stuff that would work for it (ARGH!!!! if I-mate phones were not so expensive) as you type the subject and you get something else thats designed for Nokias (oh, i consider Nokias to cheap POS by the way, wouldnt want to own one and the SE is the only other phn I consider as a I-Mate / HTC replacement) ...

anyways ... from my previous posts here in this forums, im predominantly a Windows Mobile but my old I-Mate has given the ghost and I'm forced to buy a SE as the unit was only $300 and was end of life (i still like Smartphones, and for that price, I cant complain) ...

im currently trying to find programs and softwares that would work for my unit which is not an easy mission compared to finding stuff for Windows Mobile :( ...

im trying to find a PDF Veiwer (Adobe only has a version for Nokia!? SOBs), an off-line NZ Map Pack version, Microsoft Office (Word / Excell) viewer/editor and reasonably good games with the likes of maybe Golf, Pool and a few Shoot-em-Ups

You need to start looking for apps that are UIQ3 compatible. The phone runs a Symbian OS but has a UIQ3 user interface on top. A quick Google search shows Pdf+ as a PDF Viewer and Documents To Go for Office Documents.

As for Nokia's not being the best that's a matter of personal opinion. Your SE950 is using a Nokia designed Symbian OS for this handset so Nokia must make some things that are OK..

Thnx for the quick reply, yeah I know its a matter of opinion about brands and I know that Symbian was created by either one of the companies (Nokia and SE) LoL ... Im just going Loopy-Lala trying to find stuff for Symbian since the last SE I had was the K700 and went on to IMate ever since as it was easier to find stuff IMO ... one thing Im happy and relieved to find out is that I didnt have to re-do my contact lists as the SE software copied all my Outlook info to the phn on the first Synch

Try allaboutsymbian.com - just looked and saw 63 pages of software for your phone model (plenty of them will be niche type programs - read: useless unless you're part of the niche - but there should be some useful stuff amongst that).

Or help Geekzone instead and check our software store...

Symbian wasn't created by neither Nokia or Sony Ericsson. Symbian was a company that cme out of PSION. UIQ and S60 are user interfaces on top of the OS. Nokia bought a majority stake on Symbian a couple of years ago.

Quite right. I couldn't be bothered mentioning it...
