All sound on My n95 main speakers sounds distorted. I haven't changed my audio settings (equalizer, loudness, etc)

Even at around 40% volume setting I hear crackling/distortion. It sounds fine when I'm listening to it through headphones.

Is there maybe some junk stuck in one of the speakers causing vibration=distortion

Try loading the songs onto your notebook computer and turn up the volume. Does it still have a crackling sound? Could be due to the quality of the mp3 file.

If not, then it is likely that your speakers are malfunctioning - hardware issue.

Try a hard reset.

the mp3 playback fine on all other pc's, players etc. they playback fine through headphones on n95.

sound is crackling on all audio that comes out of the speakers= message tone, ring tones, all alert tones, video playback, everything

Try to do a hard reset (Google the web on how to do that - I can't remember the codes).

Update your firmware too.

If 3-d tones isn't responsible for this, then I'm afraid it sounds like blown speakers to me...
