Hey everyone,

Am a first time poster. I recently got a T68i phone that allows my IPAQ 3870 to access the internet courtesy GPRS (thanks to Mauricio Freitas for helping me setup that up).

Now for my problem, I have had the nexicam/nexiphone software for sometime now but I never even touched it.

I don't know if this is at all possible, and my first test run was not successful but I was wondering if I could do video conferencing from my handheld using my GPRS connection?

There aren't a lot of setup options for the nexiphone and when I tried to call my desktop computers IP addy with my PDA nothing happened. No calls came in. I was using netmeeting to try to videoconference, but if anyone knows of a better program to use please tell me.

If anyone has tried this, or knows where I can go to get help. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

One more thing, I haven't been able to setup the ability to listen to live internet radio streams. I tried to download all those pocket pc media player updates from Windows but the only webpage I have been able to listen off has been: http://windowsmediamobile.theplatform.com/

Any help would be great.

Thanks guys,

Ron

Firtst the video conferencing: almost all the carriers offer NATed addresses behind the GPRS network. Also, most block the non-usual UDP ports. If nexiphone is using standard H.323 (I'm not sure if it does), then you're out of lucky. This will not work, since H.323 assigns dynamic ports during call setup.

Regarding streaming, you should be able to get other content. I've noticed that the Windows Media Mobile page sometimes points to content that is not available. I had success playing other content from other pages.

Thanks for your help freitasm. I tried to use MS Portrait but unfortunately my ipaq wasn't picking up on the calls. I'll keep playing with the options & settings a bit, but in the end the nexicam isn't supported by MS Portrait so it wouldnt do what I need..

But I have yet more questions! :)
