Hey all,

Is there anyway to set a .mp3 file as a ringtone with the OKTA agent? The instructions say you can, but do not go into much details.

I've checked the Ringtone menu and it only has the default option no option to choose from the SD Card,

any help would be appreciated.

Save the mp3 to the phones memory and then you should see it in the drop down for ring tones.

Note to make mp3's .wav files your sms tone you need a program like POCKETMAX or a reg edit but i have done that and they work for a while and then stop. STill working on a fix.

I haven't had a chance to play with WM6 yet, but on WM5 devices (like the Telecom Apache) you place the mp3 file in the \My Device\Windows\Rings directory on the phone and it will show up in the various lists when selecting a ring tone.

I have successfully done it.   Place MP3 files in

\My Windows Mobile-Based Device\Application Data\Sounds

You may want to reduce the quality of the MP3 to save space, since you can't store the files on your SD card.  I recommend using Audacity to cut out bits of your favourite sound files to use a ring tones :
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You can do some fun stuff with Audacity; don't forget to look in the Audacity FAQs to download the LAME MP3 codec.

On most phones you can put songs on your micro SD card and then set that song as your ringtone. You can make your own ringtones at http://makeownringtone.com and copy them to SD card in a card reader.
