I found this Article on Symbian-Freak.com

It seems that Nokia's re-designed the rail in the N95s and this will solve the problems.
I wonder if this new re-designed rail have reached NZ or not yet.

Did anyone bring back to his/her N95 to the service to get it fixed?

Yeah I saw that article this morning too.  Interesting.  My question is, can we tell from the retail box?  Is there some kind of "batch code"?

Good question, but I dont think you would tell it from the retail box. It's kind of "after sale repair thing".
Where do they repair Nokia phones officially in NZ? I couldnt find it on www.nokia.co.nz, it's annoying.
I'd like to ask them if they have received these new rails or not yet.

But the new batch of N95s should have the upgraded railings?

Do N95 8GBs have this wobbly slider issue too?

Keep us posted mate!

some people have complained about this problem but i haven't had it myself. it is ridiculously easy to fix, simple DIY job, for video walkthroughs go to youtube.com. i've heard from complainants that the slider issue arises from excessive use of the slider (i.e playing with it all day, every day) and/or stress put on the slider attachment (pushing it away from the phone itself). if you're not sure if u have this problem (as most can live with it if they're not picky) simply tap each lower corner of ur phone when the slider is closed and look for how much movement there is between the slider and phone itself. usually only occurs on one side not both too so it's easy to detect.

All DIY fix are LAME considering that you have to touch a $1000 phone, which should be flawless in the first place.
This is an official fix from Nokia (in my first post) and I wonder if this is available in NZ or not yet.

Over time the DIY fixes stress the plastic railing/guides too, so I'm afraid they aren't worth it. Since we have no Nokia Service Centers here I'm guessing that the only way to achieve this fix would be to buy the new rails from the net somewhere and install them yourself.

When I took a faulty almost new Nokia 6610 to Mobilefone Repair they managed to break the housing. They did replace it - but with a cheap non-Nokia housing claiming the genuine covers were not available. Yet I had no trouble buying the genuine Nokia replacement housing from Strathfield Radio in Sydney.

They - Mobilefone Repair - don't have a very good reputation eh?  They seem to overcharge and over-promise what they can do.

Yeah, from everything I've heard they're pretty bad.

Someone with some brains and expertise could make a lot of money and friends by running an efficient mobile phone repair shop (obviously, anything but a Mobilefone Repair) - Nokia certified or not.

LOL! why would i be stupid enough to buy a holden commodore?! do i look like an old man trying to make himself feel better for having small tackle? coz that's the only reason why anyone would buy one!

as for mobilefone repair they're terrible, had acouple of run ins with them with 2 separate phones, they absolutely ruined my k750i there when it went in to get flashed of the vodafone software. they were also the repairers that got a hold of my motorola v3x which came back the first time and wouldn't even turn on and came back the 2nd time and they could only manage to repair half the problems. both repairs on the v3x also took about 3 weeks foe each time it was sent away. they are without a doubt useless.

as for a new mobile phone repair place, gona be starting up a computer repair place in wgtn in the next year or so and we will move on to repairing other electronics such as mobile phones as well if it's worth it.
