I have bought an HTC falcon off trademe and the ESN number has worn off the back. Is there any way I can find out the ESN via software? It dosn't show up in "device information" under settings.

Thanks

Take the phone to a Telecom Store or Dealer, they should be able to get the ESN via the programing menu.

I can access the programming menu, it uses the standard SPC, but it does not show the ESN.

Do you know the previous phone number? If so, Telecom retail stores or the contact centres should be able to find the serial number...

Yes I have the previous number. Do telecom keep a record of the ESN's used with a particular number in the past?

So I took it to a dealer and they managed to find the ESN from the number in the phone.

So they provisioned it, how long should it take to be actived? I have a feeling they may have programmed it wrong, does anyone have a falcon who would be willing to share the programming info so I can check it against mine?

Thanks

It should take upto 4 hours, but in many cases can be done quicker.

Programming codes are not to be posted on the forums, but you can call the mobile data guys on 0800 400 909 and they'll be able to walk you through the process and confirm whether its been connected.

All connected up yesterday after a few more hours wait. For googles sake, you have to pad the MIN with zeros in the front when programming, otherwise it automatically pads it with zeros at the end, which dosn't work - the dealer made this mistake.
