DST is due to end this year on the 6th April 08 (1st Sunday in April) - it was due to end on the 16th March 08 (3rd Sunday in March) prior to the DST changes put into effect last year.

The Okta Boss devices come with WM6 and are loaded with the Microsoft Corp. Extended DST Update.

Even with this patch all appointments (reoccurring and one offs) between 16th March to 6th April are showing 1 hour behind their scheduled time.

I've tried installing the lastest version of the DST update, tried removing the DST update from the Okta and installing afresh but to no avail.

Appointments were made after all workstations, exchange (all patches), mobile devices, outlook etc were updated. Through Outlook 03 or 07 the times are shown correct.

I'd hazard to guess there is a problem with the DST update on the Okta Boss as all other "views" into Exchange server calendar times are accurrate.

Any ideas?

I would download the update and install it again. Also follow the steps carefully. The last step after installing the update is to change the device to another timezone, set it, and then change it back to NZ timezone.

Without this last step it won't work.

Hmm. Gave it a go but no luck.

I wouldn't have thought this was needed if the Okta Boss came with the latest update already loaded.

I've loaded the update, changed timezones and set back etc, on the off-chance it was the first edition of the WM6 update released for the U.S. DST changes in early 07.

Tried, downloading again, sending via email etc. no luck.

I wonder if it will come right on the 16th March while past the old end of DST time and in the extended DST.

Unfortunately I don't think I can change the time/date as with the Smartphone as it gets the time / date from the CDMA network..

Wow now that is wierd.

You can change the time, just needed to look harder.

I changed the date to the 17th, one day after the 16th, being the old end of DST.

Then browsed my appointments, they were all accurate and on time.

I then set it back to the 15th, being today and the times are STILL Accurate!?!?

I turned the phone on and off and they are STILL accurate.

This is not the only Okta Boss with the problem, mind you come Monday, hopefully all will be well for folks.

It appears the DST Update isn't being correctly applied to the view of the appointments unless you change the time to a day inside the extended timezone, being 16th March to 6th April.

Unfortunately the Okta Boss appears to have an issue with handling the Extended DST period for NZ.

8 out of 9 Okta Bosses decided to apply the OLD DST rules and put their clocks back 1 hour on the 16th March.

I've removed the DST patch, loaded the lasted, changed timezones, rebooted between steps etc and in some instances this has worked OK.

In other instances I've followed the above but had to put the date back to pre 16th March, then back into the extended DST, i.e. todays date being the 18th for the DST rules to apply correctly.

And in some instances all I've had to do is put the clock back to the 14th then to today's date - without removing the DST patch or applying it over the top - and it has adjusted well.

However...

The frustrating result is those users travelling who have turned their phones off, have turned them on, only to find the clock back 1 hour and their appointments out of sync again.

I can only guess what will happen from the 6th April onwards.

Telecom are looking into the issue.

Other WM6 devices handle the WM6-Update-2-DST patch fine. The Okta Boss doesn't appear too that well at all.

I have access to what I believe is a working fix for this on the Boss.
I will obtain and post details here (tonight hopefully).
